About the event

Law Day, held annually on May 1, is a national day set aside to celebrate the rule of law. Law Day celebrates the role of law in society and promotes a deeper understanding of the legal profession's contributions to democracy.  This year, during the 2026 Semiquincentennial (250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence), Law Day holds particular significance as a bridge between the law and the people it touches.  One pillar of the rule of law and our democracy is an independent judiciary.
